Who We Are:

Willow Pond Farm is the home of Kim and Craig Buczkowski in Weatherford Texas.   Our efforts are focused on raising Wool Sheep that produce great fleeces for Hand Spinning, Wet Felting, and Needle Felting. With years of Shepherding and Fiber Arts Experience our flock has grown to produce high quality breeding stock, sheep and lambs for spinning flocks, and fleeces for the artist and crafter’s communities.

About Our Flock:

Weatherford Texas is home to Kim’s flock of Registered Teeswaters, Registered Wensleydale and Long Wool Cross Sheep.

Our Flock started with three fine wool ewes, and a wether from my sister Jamie Root’s flock.  Initially our goal was to balance our pastures naturally as they had been getting “weedy” do the picky eating horses.  We quickly grew to love the sheep, the wool, and the fiber arts.

The flock quickly grew with the addition of Wensleydale and Teeswater Long wool sheep. We began to focus on the Teeswater Longwool breed, with focus on the breeding up program. This produced high percentage registered sheep with beautiful markings, Texas heat tolerance, and beautiful long fleeces.  Our flock contains high percentage ewes producing lambs with beautiful marking and great long locks after utilizing AI breeding, natural breeding with our pure-bred ram out of Remington Crusader, and breeding with borrowed/leased rams with different genetics from generous Teeswater breeders.

The flock also includes several fine wool sheep (Rambouillet and Merino crosses), a couple Gotland Wethers, Wensleydale-Teeswater cross sheep, and several fine and long wool crosses.  We love the variety of fleece characteristics for our own fiber art use and the flock produces plenty to share.

Our sheep live outside in Texas and will have some VM in their fleeces.  We do our best to feed low and reduce the VM but some just naturally share it with others.  If we have covered some of the finewool and cross sheep’s fleeces, it will be noted on the wool for sale section.
